Meheut Mathurin (1882-1958), French draughtsman,illustrator, painter, sculptor and engraver. The artist drew much of his work from the sources of Brittany: the procession of pardons, the sea, marine flora and fauna, and so on. However, he also made South France, Japan and the battlefields of the First World War. Méheut also designed private interiors,liner cabins and tableware (notably for Faïencerie Henriot in Quimper). Rediscovered in the 1970s, Méheut is one of Brittany's most acclaimed artists with an international reputation like Lucien Simon and Alfred Guillou.
