Louis XV Provencal Walnut Cabinet, 19th Century
Provencal walnut estagnier - 19th century
Rare and elegant Provencal walnut estagnier dating from the 19th century, remarkable for the quality of its carved work and the elegance of its curved lines.
The scrolled pediment, richly carved with floral and foliate motifs, is surmounted by five delicate turned pinnacles characteristic of antique Provencal furniture. The carved crosspieces, cut-out jambs and scrolled feet all contribute to the balance and refinement of this characterful regional piece.
The interior is upholstered in an antique fabric with small, repetitive patterns that reinforce its authentic, decorative charm.
Traditionally used in Provence to display plates and earthenware, today the estagnier is sought after as much for its decorative function as for the warmth it brings to an interior.
Great decorative presence for a kitchen, dining room or elegant country home.
