Floor Lamp Les Héritiers France
Les Heritiers France, Brutalist floor lamp in silver-plated metal, in good condition. Circa 1990.
Total height: 129 cm
Base: 20 cm x 20 cm
The birth of Maison Les Héritiers stems from the passionate encounter between Pierre Dubois and Aimé Cécil. One, a former journalist, was then the director of a press relations agency, the other, a graphic designer by training, was in charge of an industrial design studio. They shared an unconditional love for antiques as well as for contemporary art, which they collected and amassed in an eclectic fashion! Heirs to a legacy of craftsmanship: It was 1993, and everyone was talking about Asian-inspired decor, while many small French manufacturers were often failing due to a lack of innovation. "Creativity exists, but our memory is our best image library," explain Pierre and Aimé Cécil. For these two partners, it is in a museum, during a trip, or simply on the street that images are stored, images that will one day become a source of inspiration. The idea was born: they would be the Heirs to the know-how of French traditions, not by exploiting reproduction but solely by using ancient techniques through their own contemporary creations. A little something extra. The duo and their company are based in Dardilly, near Lyon. They are present every season at the Maison & Objet trade fair with elegant and subtly nuanced furniture. Here, there is nothing flamboyant or anecdotal; the people of Lyon are discreet and, on the whole, don't flaunt their lifestyle. They stick to classic color palettes: gray, beige, sand, occasionally accented with a touch of teal or mustard, but the overall effect is understated and discreet. This is what their clientele, which includes hotels, private residences, spas, and boutiques throughout France, is looking for. A brand that continues its journey with discretion and a certain "little something extra." Les Héritiers offer spaces where life is good because nothing jars the eye. Everything in their decor is harmonious; they are soothing and elegant places where it is pleasant to linger, so what more could you ask for?
