Japanese Women In A Park, Attr To Job Heinrich Frese (1914-1986), Painting On Wden Panel
Oil painting on panel depicting 3 Japanese women wearing kimono in a park, signed with the monogram GHB for the dutch painter Georges Hendrick BREITNER (1857 Rotterdam-1923 Amsterdam)
The work is in fact said to be by a copyist, also a Dutch painter, Job Henrich FRESE (1914-1986) having taken up the theme of Japanese women dear to the 1st, as well as his mentor's monogram.
The painting is part of the impressionist pictorial movement late 19th and early 20th s, both in terms of technique and subject of Japonisme.
Lovely oil on panel, with its nice stuccoed and gilded wooden frame
Dimensions:
Painting 28.5 x 24 cm,
and with its gilded stuccoed wooden frame 35 x 30 cm
Condition:
Note a small chip to the stucco in the lower right corner of the frame... (please check last photo)
