This beautiful little bronze statuette is in very good condition. The patina shows some minor wear on the reliefs.
The set rests on a Rocaille-style base richly decorated with scrolls and acanthus leaves. This base features original gilding, creating a superb contrast with the darker patina of the figure.
Although unsigned, this bronze is beautifully crafted. The subject is charming and full of romanticism, entirely in the taste of the 19th century and characteristic of the high-quality decorative productions of the Napoleon III period.
