The figure depicted draws on Indian and Balinese artistic tradition to represent Hanuman, hero of the Ramayana, the epic poem of Rama. This endearing and courageous character is a skilled and cunning monkey strategist. At the head of an army of monkeys, he is Rama's faithful companion in this fundamental text of Hinduism and Hindu mythology, alongside the Mahabharata. This sculpture is in perfect condition.
