Two pendant engravings titled le Matin et le Soir by Jacques Aliamet(1726-1788) engraved after the famous series of the four hours of the day by Joseph Vernet(1714-1789) representing for the morning, a fishing scene in an Italian harbor, for the evening bathers in a landscape evoking Tivoli. The evening engraving was part of Jacques Allamet's submission to the 1771 Salon.
The engravings are sold in sheets. The morning engraving measures 35.6x45.6 cm (basin) and 37x46.5 cm (full sheet), while the evening engraving measures 35.5x45.3 cm (basin) and 36.8x46.1 cm.
