Salt-glazed stoneware pitcher, German Westerwald or Alsatian Betschdorf type, unsigned, early 19th or early 20th century. Attractive baluster shape, large cylindrical neck, small elegant handle. Closed by a hinged lid in nicely worked gray pewter. Body decorated with hunting-themed reliefs. Very fine decorative or collector's item. 30 cm high with lid, approx. 14.5 cm diameter at base. Good general condition.
