Renowned for his interiors filled with lush plants and seemingly endless staircases, Sam Szafran presents us with a distancing effect between the subject and the artist himself. The simplification of forms in this drawing, reduced to their essence and allowing air to circulate, adds a sense of random presence. The artist had this drawing framed according to his own specifications at the prestigious Havard framing shop on Boulevard du Montparnasse in Paris. Claude Bernard has organized numerous exhibitions of Szafran's work, accompanied by extensive catalogues.
