This porcelain decoration workshop was created in 1928 by Martial Fontanille, who joined forces with M. Gandois
until 1930, then with his son-in-law Maurice Marraud from 1934. The latter founded the Fontanille
et Marraud company in 1936, and in 1942 took over a nearby porcelain factory (the former Pillivuyt factory, rue de l'Université)
to supply this white porcelain decoration workshop, whose buildings were enlarged as early as 1936, then
raised in 1949 and 1966. In 1981, the manufacturing and decoration workshops were moved to larger premises
on rue de la Réforme, Limoges. The decoration workshop was then occupied for a few years by the
Etinger company, which brought together its two small leather goods workshops on rue du Crucifix. In June 1989, the company was sold to Mipelli, which quickly went bankrupt. The decoration workshop employed 15 people in 1950,
21 people in 1965.
