Mosaic horn vase signed dessous Vallauris et Gerbino

Jean Gerbino (1876-1966) was a Vallauris ceramist, known for his mosaic technique using colored clays integrated into the mass. The motifs are created before firing, then smoothed, glazed and fired, becoming inseparable from the piece.

His colored clay mosaic decoration is applied to the raw piece inside and out, integrated by smoothing into the wall, then glazed and fired in the kiln to permanently fix the motif.

Very fine piece in perfect condition
No chips or cracks
