Important chamotte sandstone vase by Voldemar Volkoff, ceramist born in Russia in 1932 and died in Vallauris in 2007.Signed on the front lower right.

Voldemar Volkoff did his ceramic apprenticeship in Montpellier before working in various workshops in Biot and Antibes, from 1952 to 1954, then in Vallauris in the workshops of Capron, Anasse, Meynard, Portanier, Reynaud... It was in 1967 that he set up as a potter and participated in the Biennials of 1970 and 1972, before exhibiting in France and abroad. His powerful and original works are served by muted tones. He was one of the last representatives of the school of Vallauris.
