Communication Doors With Louis XV Overmantel
Pair of communication doors, paneled elements with frames forming overmantels adorned with paintings on canvas, animated scenes of characters: one painting representing autumn shows grape pickers busy picking grapes, the second painting on the theme of winter depicts skaters, a man helping a courtesan to put on her skates.
The arched doors on the high side are double-panelled, the moldings are well exposed to create a beautiful relief to the whole. The frames are also carved to recall the contours of the doors. The frames are also carved to echo the contours of the doors.
