This portrait of the famous Austrian composer Franz Schubert (1797-1828) is the work of Austrian painter and illustrator Rudolf Pöpl (1861-after 1914). He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and lived and worked in Vienna in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
