Antique Paintings From The 17th-century Dutch School

Artist: Pietro Maurizio Bolckman
Oil on canvas, 157 × 167 cm, framed
The works are attributed to Pietro Maurizio Bolckman and his workshop, typical of the Bambocciani school.
The works, particularly rich in detail, depict, respectively, a rural landscape serving as the setting for a bustling scene animated by merchants, blacksmiths, and carpenters busy with their daily activities, and a scene depicting an imaginary coastal landscape, with a harbor quay, boats, and ships at anchor and docked, serving as the setting for a scene animated by wealthy buyers, merchants, and fishermen engaged in their daily activities.

The style in which the characters and the lively genre scenes are rendered perfectly captures the master’s style. The figures appear typical of the Dutch painter’s repertoire, where the influence of the Bamboccianti school, learned during his stay in Rome, is evident.
The landscape depicted also reveals great precision and a wealth of detail in the rendering of the figures, which are minutely described and enjoyable in every detail.

The work is completed by a precious contemporary frame in carved and gilded wood
Pietro Maurizio Bolckman (Gorinchem, 1640 - Turin, 1710), of Dutch origin but active primarily in Italy during the second half of the 17th century, first in Rome, then in Genoa, and finally, beginning in 1679, in Turin.
THE WORKS WILL BE SHIPPED IN A WOODEN CRATE AND WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY
