Napoleon III period letter tray.
Inlaid wood exterior, dark brown patina exterior with inlaid escutcheon engraved with a crown.
Palisander wood interior with ivory fillets, 4-level top storage for papers and documents.
The lower block pulls out and unfolds: the writing surface is upholstered in original blue fabric ( in the state, a little faded and
cut in the middle), 6 storage compartments at the top including two inkwells and a lidded pen holder.
Dimensions closed: 32.8 cm x 26.5 cm / Height 14 cm
Once unfolded, the whole is 60 centimeters deep.
Very good overall condition, a cosseted and well-thought-out object, for a total weight of 2835 grams.
No key + brass fillet missing (see photo 3).
