Louis XV
Artist: Pierre Hache
Louis XV period walnut chest of drawers opening with two drawers.
Grenoble cabinetmaker "Pierre Hache".
Cabinetmaker born December 28, 1705 in Paris, died June 3, 1776.
Pierre Hache worked from 1725 in his father's workshop, Place Claveyson, Grenoble.
In 1757, he was awarded the brevet de garde et ébéniste by the Duc D'orléans.
His reputation far surpassed that of his father Thomas, whom he succeeded, but was in turn surpassed by his son Jean-François Hache, who later took over.
Although not stamped (which is unusual, after all), this chest of drawers displays all the characteristic decorations and technical qualities of "Pierre Hache" manufacture.
A similar model is presented in the book by Pierre and Françoise Rouge , ( Le génie des Hache ) , published by Faton.
An exceptional piece of furniture, entirely original and in a remarkable state of preservation.
