Bureau secrétaire à cylindre ou bonheur du jour in moiré lemon veneer, mahogany and brass fillets. It opens with a cylinder that reveals the green leather-covered worktop and 3 small drawers, the right-hand drawer complete with accessories (inkwell and hourglass). At the waist and above, 2 large drawers, all three closing with a trefoil key. Above, on the tier, a showcase for displaying precious objects, topped with a white marble with openwork gallery.

This is a Parisian or Bordeaux work, veneered on oak and fir, from the late 18th century or early 19th century.

Created at the end of the reign of Louis XV, the cylinder desk is a piece of furniture with a mechanism.mechanism, an evolution of the flat desk, whose lockable cylinderto keep work spread out on the desk confidential.confidential.

A piece of furniture of excellent craftsmanship, it is veneered with refined wood species: lemon moiré for a luminous effect and pearly reflections, enriched with brassebony fillets in mahogany frames. The cloverleafcloverleaf locks are another sign of quality.

A very fine collector's item. Louis XVI furniture in lemonwood is displayed in the greatest museums.
