Fine chased silver, gadrooned knob with rich floral decoration -in the Louis XVI style-, topped by a fine engraving of a bishop's effigy.Bélière (Ag) present riveted. Malacca rush shaft.
About the hallmarks :. Master hallmark to be identified, surface abrasion from use.
A master silversmith not listed by warranty services will be absent from the "Tardy", explaining the difficulty of identification.
. Absence of the guarantee hallmark (Ag800 or +) either due to rubbing wear as well, or because the work corresponds to a personal commission without subsequent control.
Total height : 92 cmA very rare object of great finesse.
Small comment : Malacca rushes were used for some magnificent examples of journeymen's staffs, freemasons and bedeaux (masters of religious ceremonies).
