Bronze Cane Knob 19th Century

XlXth century bronze cane pommel with a double brown and gold patina that gives the sculpture a beautiful presence.
The head of a helmeted Gallic soldier is depicted from the front; he wears a moustache and beard and opens his mouth to express himself; his finely chiseled helmet border is adorned with ram's horns and on either side escapes a long, thick lock of braided hair.
This pommel is crafted with great care; many particularly convincing details make it a fine collector's item.
