Angiolo Volpe, born in Livorno in 1943, developed a great passion for painting at a young age, a passion that has stayed with him throughout his life. Thanks to his origins, Volpe had the opportunity to come into contact with the painting of the Macchiaioli, which influenced his style and his technique.
The subjects Volpe has chosen to depict reflect his love for his homeland, Tuscany, and in particular for the city of Livorno, the sea, and the Maremma. His art, imbued with a profound sensitivity toward nature and the elements that make up the landscape, represents the daily life of his homeland.
Volpe’s works have been highly successful both in Italyand abroad, having been exhibited in the United States and Japan as well. Critics have been particularly receptive to his ability to capture the soul of Tuscany and to express, through his paintings, the beauty and authenticity of his homeland.
