Carlo Stragliati trained at the Brera Academy.

He specialised in genre paintings, with a particular focus on important portraits of aristocrats. In addition to his oil paintings, his red chalk drawings, pencil sketches and watercolours are also very famous. Many of his works are exhibited in Italian museums and foundations.
