Important Louis XV Period Sciban Commode In Marquetry.
Important Dutch Louis XV period sciban galbée commode, in marquetry, dating from the XVIIIth century.
This piece of furniture is distinguished by its rich inlaid decoration with floral motifs and scrolls, deployed throughout the front as well as on the flap, with a symmetrical composition of great finesse.
The flap reveals a remarkable interior comprising:
several small curved side drawers, also inlaid
a leather-wrapped writing apron
a small central leaf decorated
with numerous storage compartments
The front features three large drawers on the waist, adorned with antique bronze (keyways and handles).
The piece rests on cambered legs, joined by a moving crosspiece embellished with important central carved decoration, typical of the Louis XV style.
Very fine warm patina of the wood and well-preserved marquetry, offering a high-quality decorative rendering.
