Beautiful large Brussels earthenware pitcher,
maybe manufacture factory "De Moriaen" by François GHOVERT (1784-1809);
it depicts the martyrdom of St. Sebastian, who suffered, suffered much.
This pitcher too : it has suffered from two centuries of use, with chips on base and spout, body cracked, plus some enamel crazing on surface, and soldering on pewter lid.......
