Pair Of French-made Vases With Floral Decorations By Jacob Petit

Modeled in a baluster shape, they are decorated on a black background with raised floral motifs, both on the front and back, in vibrant yet delicate colors and embellished with gold details all around. The side handles curve upwards, featuring leaf-like motifs, all decorated in gold. They rest on their original bases, decorated at the bottom, with leaf-shaped scrolls and curls at the sides, all decorated in gold, and a rich shell-shaped and scroll-shaped centerpiece. The bases are supported by four small scroll-shaped feet, shaped like acanthus leaves and decorated in the center with a small shell. The entire base is decorated in gold, with the upper part of the base black, matching the body of the vase. Both vases are signed under the bases with the letters J. P. and are in excellent condition. Some minor wear to the paint is noteworthy, but given their age, this is normal.
