Elegant set of small-sized table knives dating from the 19th century, comprising 36 pieces presented in their original fitted case.
The set includes 18 knives with solid silver blades, 13 bearing the Vieillard hallmark and 5 the Minerva hallmark, along with 18 knives with metal blades. All feature mother-of-pearl handles, enhanced with silver end caps and central cartouches, creating a refined and balanced aesthetic.
The design is both sober and elegant, highlighting the natural iridescence of the mother-of-pearl as well as the finely crafted mounts and details.
The original case, covered in a tortoiseshell imitation finish, offers strong decorative appeal. The interior is lined with deep red fabric, carefully fitted to hold each knife in place.
