17th-century Nüremberg Chest
Nüremberg wrought-iron chest, cut out and assembled with rivets and screws. The chest was the furniture
par excellence in the Middle Ages, used to store all kinds of objects. Iron chests were
reserved for precious objects. The mechanism attached to the underside of the lid covers the entire surface with sophisticated
gears that operate numerous bolts with a single turn of the key. Inside
is a small cassette for even the most secret belongings. Two sturdy side handles allow it to be
transported. Good condition. The key works perfectly.
DIMENSIONS: 57cm x 30cm and 30cm high.
