A superb late 19th-century oak partners desk of exceptional quality, retaining its original rich colour and patina. Of generous proportions, it is fitted to one side with five short and one long oak lined drawers and cupboard, and to the reverse with a corresponding arrangement of drawers and cupboards, providing ample and practical storage for both users.
The top retains its original tooled and embossed green leather inset, offering a luxurious and durable writing surface, and is framed by a classic thumb moulded edge. The desk stands on two substantial pedestals, each fitted with fielded sides and raised on a plinth base with concealed castors for ease of movement. All the drawers are fitted with brass swan neck handles and working locks, maintaining a cohesive and elegant design throughout.
