Office Rug - Napoleon III Style, Aubusson - Circa 1940 - N° 1662
This magnificent rug has been thoroughly cleaned and checked by our experts in our Atelier artisanal. It is now ready to adorn your interior.
This desk rug features a very elegant and symmetrical composition, typical of the decorative taste inspired by the Napoleon III style.
The main field is dominated by a deep blue background that highlights a rich central decoration. This is organized around an elongated oval medallion, structured in three parts, with a red background of geometric diamond motifs. At the heart of the medallion, a radiant circular floral motif in ivory, gold and beige tones brings luminosity and refinement.
About this central axis, an abundance of flowery garlands unfold with finesse: roses, foliage and small flowers in soft shades (cream, pale yellow, pink, and touches of orange) soften the composition and create a delicate contrast with the dark background.
The spandrels are adorned with highly decorative cartouche motifs, almost shells or stylized medallions, in warm tones (ochre, gold, red), framed by floral scrolls. A peripheral border frames the whole with regular, rhythmic decoration in shades of beige and gold, providing a classic, balanced finish.
The overall impression is one of decorative richness, controlled symmetry and classic elegance, with a harmonious palette blending depth (blue), warmth (red and gold) and softness (light flowers). This is a highly ornamental rug, designed as much to structure a space as to attract the eye.
