Hand-painted Alsatian Armoire With Floral Decor, 19th Century
Charming two-door solid wood armoire, richly decorated with polychrome paintings with floral motifs, typical of regional folk art.
The front is composed of framed panels featuring stylized bouquets and naive floral compositions, executed in vivid tones (red, blue, green and cream) on an ochre/red background. Each panel features a distinct decoration, bringing rhythm and authenticity to the whole.
The intermediate crosspieces are also adorned with painted motifs, underlining the care taken with the ornamentation.
The natural wood structure contrasts elegantly with the painted panels, offering a beautiful visual balance. The cabinet rests on a cut-out base and features an understated molded cornice.
