⸻ Bronze Inkwell With Immortal Decoration Japanese-inspired French Work
Elegant inkwell in finely chased bronze, adorned at its center with a figure of an immortal seated in a meditative position on a lotus-shaped base. The figure, wearing a crown and a long beard, adopts a serene posture, raising his hands in a symbolic gesture to deposit his quill.
The circular cup, forming the receptacle for the inkwell, is embellished with openwork motifs and small decorative elements around the periphery, testifying to refined, balanced workmanship. The whole piece rests on a circular pedestal for stability.
Very fine antique patina.
A decorative and collectable item that can also be used as a pocket or table centerpiece.
We find on the tray the name Blancheteau, which is probably the name or nickname of the original owner of this inkwell.
