Alfredo Pina (1883-1969)A pupil of Auguste Rodin, he wasItalian-born artist and sculptor. He createdbusts, notably of Beethoven and Wagner, as well as other figurativefigurative and animal sculptures. His famous bust of Victor Hugo is on display at theMetropolitan Museum in New York.He was born in 1883 in Milan, Italy's second-largest city and workplace of the famousartist Leonardo da Vinci. He studied at the Brera Academy inAcademy in Milan.The life of Alexandre Alfredo PinaThe Académie des Beaux-Arts was founded in 1776 byEmpress Maria Theresa of Austria and is housed, along with other culturalPalazzo Brera. In addition to Pina, numerous personalitiesfrom the world of arts and culture, including designer and architectarchitect Carlo Bugatti (1856-1940) and Franco-Italian sculptor Médardo RossoRosso (1858-1928).After winning the Grand Prix National de Sculpture de Brera, he opened his ownhis own studio in Paris. Between 1909 and 1910, he studied with Auguste Rodin(1840-1917) in Paris.
