Curved Provencal Chest Of Drawers With Central Projection, 18th Century, Carved Decoration
Provençal molded and carved wood chest of drawers, curved in shape, opening on the front with four main drawers framing a central row of two narrower, recessed drawers.
The elegantly curved front is enlivened by molded jambs adorned with carved medallions, bringing relief and refinement to the ensemble. The sides are panelled and scalloped.
The lower molded crosspiece is embellished in its center with a carved shell decoration. The whole piece rests on arched legs.
The top, with its curved shape and corbin spouts, has a beautiful warm patina, contrasting with the body of the piece treated in a light patina.
The bronze pull handles and keyways are original.
