Sculpture of two does—one grazing while the other keeps watch—mounted on a black marble base and signed by Irénée Rochard. This animal sculptor (1906–1984) from Villefranche-sur-Saône came from a family of artists. He counted François Pompon and Edouard Sandoz—two other renowned animal sculptors—among his friends.
