Rare and superb set of eight champagne flutesin cut crystal, Tommy model, produced by the Cristalleriefounded in 1586 and now part of the Hermès group.Hermès group.
Created in 1928, the Tommy service has become a symbol of French art de vivre.à la française. Its emblematic decoration combines bevel cut,and pearls, and its star-shaped foot extends to the verycenter of the glass. Each flute requires the expertise of severalglassblowers and cutters, over a period of approximately10 working days.

Themodel Tommy wascreated to pay tribute to the British soldiers, nicknamed theTommies,who fought in the First World War and were celebratedin the poems of Rudyard KIPLING. It was a resounding success at the 1938 banquet held in theGalerie des Glaces at the Château de Versailles, where 2,200 Tommyglasses were used.
