Freemasonry, Rose Croix, Large Portrait Of A Man With His 19th Century Ornaments
Very rare 19th-century oil on canvas depicting a Freemason in the rank of Rose Cross with his ornaments (a Rose Cross cord). According to tradition, this painting was saved from the devastation wrought by the Nazis on Masonic lodges during the Occupation. This portrait is in very poor condition, with visible round holes, but also some restored ones that may have been caused by shots fired at the painting. This painting requires extensive restoration, with holes, tears, flaking and old restorations to be repeated... Dimensions : 130 x 98 cm
