About Édouard Eveno,
born Édouard Jules Evenot on September 11, 1884 in Saint-Aubin-du-Cormier and died after 1952 in Rouen, was a French painter, printmaker and sculptor.
At the age of seven, Édouard Eveno began drawing the animals of animal trainer François Bidel. He went on to attend the École des Beaux-Arts in Amiens, and learned sculpture in Julien and Minotte's workshop. He then lived in Albert, Saint-Quentin and Le Havre, where he lost his mother. He then joined a relative in Fougères, and spent a year with the Vasserot circus. During the First World War, he was assigned to the railway workshops at Sotteville-lès-Rouen. A teacher at the Société populaire d'études diverses de Sotteville-lès-Rouen, Édouard Eveno won first prize at the Rouen School of Fine Arts and a diploma from the Inspection académique de la Seine-Inférieure. He exhibits at the Salon des artistes rouennais, the galerie moderne and the galerie Legrip in Rouen.
