Pair of Louis XVI period carved and gilded wooden lamps.
Originally candlesticks, they have been converted into lamps.
The iron spikes have been retained for authenticity, covered by a brass tube.
Exquisite carving with decoration of coins, water leaves, drapery, and fluting.
The gilding appears to have been applied with a gold varnish.
These lamps are in good used condition; there are some losses to the gilding and some chips in the wood, but this only adds to their charm.
