A deep, oval-shaped bowl in Longwy enamels, with scalloped edges, decorated with foliage on the rim and polychrome and gilded flowers in the center, on a crackled background. The stamp with holly bears the inscription "Hand-decorated." The name of the piece, "Watteau," is inscribed on a band shorter than the outer circle. The mark "France" and the creation of Maurice Paul Chevallier are also present. Born in Paris in 1892, he joined the factory in 1925 and quickly became its chief decorator.
