Bronze Tripod Incense Burner, Vietnam, Circa 1900
A bronze tripod incense burner with a brown patina, resting on three feet. The decoration is divided into two parts: – a lower section, finely incised and inlaid, depicting figures, animated scenes, and symbolic motifs; – an upper section adorned with a frieze in low relief with an archaic style, inspired by Chinese ritual bronzes (stylized taotie-type masks and geometric patterns). Upright side handles, open lid. Vietnamese work from the early 20th century, colonial period. Beautiful antique patina, wear consistent with age. Height: 24 cm.
