Napoleon III Style Center Table, In 19th Century Marquetry
Napoleon III Marquetry Center Table – 19th Century. An elegant Napoleon III period center table, crafted from ebonized wood and precious wood marquetry, a 19th-century French work. The rectangular top features a finely executed floral marquetry in the center, depicting a bouquet in a vase, made of light and stained wood on a black background. This decorative composition, typical of the Napoleon III style, offers an elegant contrast with the natural wood frame. The apron is adorned with a drawer in the front, decorated with a marquetry floral frieze and fitted with its bronze keyhole escutcheon. The base is particularly decorative, with four twisted legs, known as "spiral legs," joined by a scrolled stretcher forming a cross with a central disc, resting on small turned feet. The whole piece has a light and decorative silhouette, ideal as a living room table, center table, or small side table. A truly beautiful decorative piece.
