Life-size Flayed Figure - Anatomical Plate Of The Human Body - Circa 1900
Life-Size Anatomical Model, Height approx: 1.66m.
This anatomical chart is a folding cardboard model, almost life-size. It consists of several superimposed layers, some held together by riveted sheet metal staples.
The upper layers can be unfolded to the left and right.
The model was made around 1900.
The "Bilz" who gives his name to the model is probably Friedrich Eduard Bilz (1842-1922).
This German naturopath and reformer was at the height of his fame at the turn of the century. His books enjoyed great international success and were translated into twelve languages.
The anatomical model is dusty, a piece is missing next to the stomach, but the whole remains relatively complete. A rare piece due to its size.
