A Corozo Snuffbox Case Carved With Putti, Scrolls, A Flower Basket And A Dog - Circa 1800
An ovoid corozo snuffbox, carved with openwork decoration in two registers, featuring putti playing music or holding torches, foliate scrolls, a flower basket, and a trained dog.
It opens in the middle with a screw thread and has a cap at the top, mounted in silver-plated metal.
Early 19th century.
Very good condition, unengraved escutcheon, one chain damaged.
