Ondine, also known as Dragonfly, is a period bronze sculpture by Mathurin Moreau, dating from around the mid-19th century.

It depicts a young woman—Ondine, the water goddess.
Seated on a rock surrounded by reeds, with a jug at her feet pouring an eternal stream of water, the nymph gazes downward, her head gently tilted, lost in thought. Her posture is graceful. She is nude beneath a light veil draped over her small decorative wings, and a soft smile graces her serene face, framed by elegantly styled curly hair.

This refined bronze bears the signature of the artist, “Mathurin Moreau,” and rests on a detachable gilt metal base. It features both gold and medal patinas.

With its delicate artistry, this exquisite bronze captures the beauty of the feminine form and enchants with the poetry it conveys.
