Complete 14-piece Fish Service In Fine Proceram Earthenware
Complete fine blue-green glazed earthenware dinner service by Procéram in Aubagne: 12 dinner plates (24.5 cm) depicted with six different fish such as sea bream, John Dory, red mullet, gurnard, mackerel, and scorpionfish in relief; 1 sauce boat (13 cm with an 18 cm base) depicted with a spider crab, a sea urchin, mussels, and a bouquet in relief; 1 large oval platter (60 x 24 cm) depicted with a lobster and a spiny lobster in relief. This service dates from around 1960 and is in perfect condition. All the plates, as well as the sauce boat and platter, are marked on the base. This former flagship of Aubagne ceramics was founded in 1908 under the name "Société des Faïenceries d'Aubagne" (SFA). Briefly renamed Faïencerie Nouvelle de Provence between 1929 and 1938, it will be remembered for years to come. under the name Procéram from 1939 and ceased its activity in 1977.
