Crystal And Silver Toiletry Case, Bramah London Piccadilly, D. Edwards To Her Majesty, 1840, 19th Century

A rectangular rosewood case containing a red morocco leather-bound set with removable compartments, including various cut crystal and silver bottles and boxes, as well as several mother-of-pearl instruments. Signed Bramah, 194 Piccadilly (on the lock) and D. Edwards, manufacturer to His Majesty, 21 King St., Bloomsberry, London (on the leather of the notebook). The outer flap has a brass plaque engraved with the name "Agatha." It has retractable brass side handles. All the components of the case are in good condition except for a rectangular cut crystal box which has a small chip (see photo). The opening of the case shows a minor, old mark from an attempted forced opening. England, Victorian era, circa 1840. H: 14.5 cm - W: 32 cm - D: 22.5 cm
