Large Art Nouveau bronze vase signed P. Roussel - Decor of nymphs and puttoElegant and rare bronze vase with nuanced brown patina, signed P. Roussel, from the late 19th - early 20th century, in the purest Art Nouveau spirit.

This model of beautiful quality has a finely chiselled relief decor, representing graceful female nymphs evolving in a landscape of reeds, one of which plays the flute, creating a poetic and musical scene.

The whole is enriched with the presence of a putto (small winged angel), delicately sculpted, bringing a symbolic and dreamlike dimension to the composition.

The body of the vase, treated as a stylised plant trunk, is surmounted by a leaf-shaped flared neck and flanked by two winding handles evoking natural stems, characteristic of the Art Nouveau movement.

The work rests on a veined red marble base, elegantly moulded, reinforcing the contrast and refinement of the whole.

Very good general condition, beautiful old patina.
