A very fine pastel on paper, signed lower right by René Martin (1891-1977), depicting a beautiful Oriental woman wearing jewelry, dated 1943. René Martin was a French Orientalist painter. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and traveled extensively in North Africa. He is a painter renowned for his depictions of Maghreb scenes.
