Red morocco leather binding with the arms of the Nicolay family (including on the spine). Personal copy of Jean Aymlar de Nicolay (1658-1737), advisor to the king and first president of the Paris Chamber of Accounts. He particularly distinguished himself during the siege of Valenciennes in 1677.
