Anglo-indian Letterbox, Carved Sandalwood. 19th Century
Antique Anglo-Indian hand-carved sandalwood box with double-hinged lid and lock - made in the late 19th century. This antique Anglo-Indian stationery box is made of solid sandalwood. The top, sides, front, and back are finely hand-carved (see photos). The box features a beautiful hand-carved floral, architectural, and animal motif (see photos). The box has its lock, but the key is missing. It has compartments. The box is in very good condition considering its age (see photos). There are a few small, discreet chips. The external dimensions are approximately 9.5 cm wide at the front and 22 cm wide at the back. The height at the back is 13.5 cm.
